We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice, which follows the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Giving us these details is necessary to receive a quote: without them we cannot handle your request. We do not collect special categories of personal data, we do not make automated decisions with legal effects on you, and we do not profile you.

3. Who receives your data

If a surveyor covers your district, your request is passed to them so that they can reply to you. From that point they handle your data as an independent controller, to prepare the quote and, if you agree, to carry out the work. That is the purpose for which you gave us your details. If no surveyor covers your district, your request is not passed on to anyone.

We also use service providers for hosting, form handling, email and website analytics. They act on our instructions. Some of them are outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States, and those transfers rely on safeguards recognised by data protection law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or, where it applies, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

We do not sell your data or pass it on for marketing.

4. Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection, and you can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the processing that took place before. Write to geral@topografoportugal.pt saying which right you want to exercise. We will reply within one month.

If your request has already been passed to a surveyor, they hold their own copy as an independent controller, so erasing it on our side does not erase it on theirs. You will need to exercise your rights with them as well, and we will tell you who they are.

5. Complaints

You can complain to our supervisory authority, the Portuguese Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), Av. D. Carlos I, 134, 1.º, 1200-651 Lisbon, https://www.cnpd.pt.

If you live in the United Kingdom you may also contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), https://ico.org.uk, and if you live in Ireland to the Data Protection Commission (DPC), https://www.dataprotection.ie.

6. Cookies

We use cookies only to measure how the site is used (Google Analytics). They are set, and the analytics tool is loaded, only after you click Accept. Until you choose, or if you decline, the tool is not loaded and the site works just the same. A small cookie remembers your choice for about six months.

You can change your choice at any time in cookie preferences, and you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
